College students slave over textbooks with the occasional party, leaving them sleepless. These unhealthy habits decreases brain function, resulting in poor academic success, mental health issues, and poor judgement. Shleep is an awareness campaign aimed to promote good sleeping habits. Jessica lead the development of this campaign in a team environmental project and pushed it beyond to create a complete user experience.
A teammate derived the campaign name from an old wives' tale for helping soothe yourself to sleep. Ironically, sheep counting continues to stimulate the brain. Jessica decided to replace the fluffy sheep body and leg with a brain to promote awareness of how sleep deprivation can affect our brains.
Rewards for good sleeping habits.
College students earn points for listening to relaxing music before bed, tracking sleep, taking proper naps, and waking up on time. If a student hits the snooze on the alarm or naps too long, they'll loose points. When relaxing, napping, or sleeping, the app will lock the screen to avoid digital distraction.
